Sharjah24: Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs (SDIA) has inaugurated the "Al-Aleem" Mosque in Al Mudam area of central Sharjah. Built at the expense of the Sharjah government, the mosque accommodates 500 worshippers as part of the department's ongoing efforts to construct and enhance mosques across various suburbs and cities in the emirate. This initiative aims to strengthen the religious infrastructure, meet community needs, and enable residents to perform their rituals and worship with comfort and ease.
The mosque is constructed on a total land area of 3,500 square meters, featuring a prayer hall, comprehensive service facilities, a women's prayer area for 55 worshippers, ablution facilities, parking spaces, and housing for the imam. The mosque is equipped with advanced lighting and sound systems to provide a comfortable environment for worshippers.
Architecturally, the mosque combines traditional Islamic and Andalusian styles, topped with a 30-meter tall minaret and a circular dome. Eco-friendly materials that meet sustainability standards were used in its construction.
