"Tales in the Palm Oases" concludes with remarkable success

Sharjah 24: The Rubu' Qarn Centers for Theatre and Performing Arts concluded its "Tales in the Palm Oases" event, which was held throughout the holy month of Ramadan at its headquarters in City Centre Al Zahia. The event served as an interactive artistic space that combined theatrical performances, creative workshops, and cultural competitions targeting various members of society, in a warm and inspiring Ramadan atmosphere.

Participation and engagement

The event saw strong participation, with more than 204 individuals attending interactive workshops and over 600 visitors enjoying the Ramadan-themed evenings filled with stories, performances, and activities. The programme included over 35 workshops in theatre, storytelling, and creative arts, alongside more than five engaging storytelling sessions that captivated diverse attendees.

Theatrical performances

Five theatrical performances were presented, each showcasing unique themes and artistic styles. Highlights included "Visitor from Another Planet," "He who is greedy, his nature is formed by greed," "Treasures of the Ancestors," "On the Threshold of Memory," and the popular comedy "Qahqaha." These performances sparked great interest among visitors.

Dr Adnan Salloum, a theatre arts expert, expressed that the event was exceptional, with significant visitor engagement. He noted the importance of storytelling and theatre in the community and emphasised the role of the event in showcasing theatre’s potential as a tool for inspiration and enjoyment.

Several partners, including The Big Heart Foundation, FUNN Foundation, Sharjah Museums Authority, and others, collaborated to make the event a success. Their contributions reflect the cooperative spirit in promoting cultural programmes during Ramadan.
