Sharjah 24: Sharjah Parents Council, affiliated with Sharjah Districts Affairs Department (SDAD), in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, organised the 8th Quran Memorisation and Recitation Competition for the year 2025.

 Promoting religious values

The competition comes within the framework of the ongoing efforts of the Council and the Ministry of Education to promote religious values among the younger generations.

The Quran Memorisation and Recitation Competition is an important event that contributes to strengthening Islamic identity and encouraging students to adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran.

 164 participants

The competition, which took place, on Sunday, at the Muwailih Suburb Council headquarters in Sharjah, saw broad participation from students, parents, and people with disabilities. A total of 164 participants participated, including 35 schools from Sharjah and the Central Region, and 74 males and 90 females from Sharjah government schools.

The participants were divided into several categories and levels, including kindergartens, grades one to three, parents, and people with disabilities. Participation levels were determined based on the number of parts of the Holy Quran memorised, starting from Surat Al-A'la to Surat An-Nas for kindergarten students, and up to memorising four consecutive parts for third-grade students.

The Parents' Council set clear conditions for participation in the competition, including that the contestant must not have achieved first place in the same category in previous years.

Special conditions were also set for the people with disabilities category, whereby the student must be enrolled in the inclusive education system for the 2024-2025 academic year.

Great interest in teaching the Holy Quran

The judging process was supervised by Sharjah Noble Quran and Sunnah Establishment, and participants were evaluated based on precise criteria related to Quran memorisation and recitation. Organisers praised the level of participation and fair competition among the contestants, reflecting the great interest in teaching the Holy Quran and its correct recitation.

The competition saw a large turnout from students and parents, reflecting the growing interest in Quranic education in society. All necessary facilities were provided for participants, including those with disabilities, to encourage them to participate and excel in this Quranic competition.
