Rubu' Qarn Innovation Season concludes with 1,000+ participants

Sharjah24 : In alignment with UAE Innovation Month and its mission to prepare future generations for technological advancements, the Rubu' Qarn Centre for Science and Technology, under the Rubu' Qarn Foundation for Creating Future Leaders and Innovators, successfully wrapped up the Rubu' Qarn Innovation Season under the theme “Where Minds Move”. This dynamic event brought together more than 1,000 participants and visitors throughout February 2025.
Empowering young minds through innovation

The Rubu' Qarn Foundation remains dedicated to fostering creative spaces that unite children and youth from its affiliated institutions with their peers from schools. Through engaging challenges and hands-on experiences, participants had the opportunity to showcase their talents in technical and programming innovation, while also receiving support for their creative projects.

Robotics and ethical hacking competitions push boundaries

The season featured two major robotics tournaments:

Rubu' Qarn Local VEX Robotics Championship in Khorfakkan
UAE National VEX Robotics Championship at the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park
These competitions saw participation from over 85 teams and 450 competitors from Rubu' Qarn institutions, schools, and clubs across the UAE. Young innovators aged 6 to 18 demonstrated their skills in designing and programming robots for various challenges.

Additionally, the event hosted the RQ CTF Ethical Hacking Challenge, which attracted 37 participants from six universities and institutions. This challenge, open to individuals aged 16 to 24, tested their abilities in cybersecurity, code decryption, and solving technical puzzles.

Moreover, 14 members of the Rubu' Qarn Foundation, aged 6 to 12, participated in the Kumon Maths Challenge, further strengthening their problem-solving and analytical skills.

Promoting sustainability through innovation

As part of its contribution to “Year of the Community” 2025, the season highlighted various groundbreaking projects that demonstrated the participants’ commitment to sustainable development and community engagement. These innovative initiatives encouraged collaboration between individuals and institutions, reinforcing their role in building a sustainable future.

National and international recognition for young scientists

In collaboration with the Ministry of Education, the UAE Young Scientist Competition was held, drawing 66 students from 16 schools and clubs. Participants showcased 30 scientific projects, with the best entries set to represent the UAE at the ISEF 2025 competition in the åUnited States this coming May.

Additionally, an innovation exhibition featured 28 outstanding projects by Rubu' Qarn members, highlighting their achievements in science and technology across the 6 to 26 age group.

Enhancing entrepreneurship and digital content creation

The event also included an entrepreneurial bootcamp, “Muadalah”, organised in collaboration with FUNN, the Media Discovery Platform. Seventeen participants, aged 16 to 24, honed their skills in technical content creation, storytelling, and digital innovation under the guidance of entrepreneur Eissa Al Awadhi.

Engaging discussions on innovation and impact

Furthermore, the season featured four inspirational panel discussions led by prominent UAE figures, focusing on “Innovation for Society and Humanity”. These sessions covered vital topics such as artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability, innovative agriculture, and entrepreneurship, encouraging knowledge exchange and thought leadership.
