The evening combined knowledge and remembrance, reinforcing the values of tolerance and brotherhood that characterise the blessed month of Ramadan.
The event, organised by Rashid Al Mahyan, Chairman of the Central Region Parents Council, attracted significant participation from all segments of society. Families, both young and old, gathered to benefit from this session, which carried valuable educational and social messages.
Dr. Mohammed bin Hashil Al Tunaiji discussed the virtues of the month of Ramadan, explaining how this blessed month offers an incredible opportunity for self-purification, refining character, and drawing closer to God through acts of worship. He highlighted that Ramadan is not only a month of fasting, but also a comprehensive spiritual school that teaches patience, generosity, and kindness, while reinforcing values of social solidarity, embodied in Ramadan gatherings that unite hearts and bring people together.
Al Tunaiji also emphasised the significant role of worship in the reform of both individuals and society. He encouraged attendees to make the most of the Ramadan nights for prayer, seeking forgiveness, and reciting the Quran. He stressed that one of the greatest achievements of a fasting person is attaining taqwa, which refines the soul, elevates the spirit, and positively influences an individual’s behaviour and interactions with family and community.
Al Tunaiji also discussed the importance of instilling moral values and tolerance, especially in light of contemporary challenges. He pointed out that Ramadan provides the ideal opportunity for reconciliation with oneself and others, to abandon disputes, and to strengthen the bonds of love and compassion—core principles of Islam.
In conclusion, Al Tunaiji emphasised the importance of involving younger generations in the spirit of Ramadan, urging them to maintain regular prayer, honour their parents, and adopt good character. He cited prophetic sayings and Quranic verses that encourage piety, family ties, and generosity.
In his remarks, Rashid Al Mahyan expressed his gratitude to Dr. Mohammed bin Hashil Al Tunaiji for his enlightening lecture, which illuminated the majlis and enriched the audience with insightful thoughts that address both individual and societal issues in the light of Islamic teachings.
He also praised the active participation of the attendees and commended the spirit of brotherhood that brought everyone together in this blessed majlis. Al Mahyan emphasised that the majlis continues to host meaningful events that promote community culture and contribute to solidifying noble values that our religion advocates.
At the end of the lecture, the attendees engaged in friendly discussions about the session’s topics, confirming that such initiatives enhance religious and societal awareness and deepen the bonds of connection between community members. The majlis remains a beacon reflecting the authenticity of Emirati society and its deep-rooted values.
