Mohammed Al Awadhi announces 9th Al Dhaid Date Festival

Sharjah 24: His Excellency Mohammed Ahmed Amin Al Awadhi, Director General of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, announced that the 9th edition of the Al Dhaid Date Festival will take place from July 23 to 27 at Expo Centre Al Dhaid. The event is expected to attract large numbers of farm owners and farmers from across the UAE.

Press conference highlights festival details and honours initiative winners

The announcement was made during a press conference organised by the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where details of the upcoming festival were shared, and winners of the "Bisharat Al Qayd" initiative were honored as part of the festival's broader activities.

Strong participation from farmers across the UAE

Al Awadhi confirmed to "Sharjah 24" that the festival will see participation from a distinguished group of farm owners and farmers from Sharjah and other emirates. The event aims to showcase local produce and strengthen the agricultural community.

Supporting farmers and expanding green spaces

Al Awadhi emphasised that the annual festival supports farmers and palm tree owners by promoting the cultivation of diverse palm species and increasing green coverage. The festival also features competitions with valuable prizes to encourage participation.

Encouraging agricultural enterprises and SMEs

The Director General highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to involving companies in the agricultural sector and offering support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs), further contributing to the development of sustainable farming in the UAE.
