Sharjah24: Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi, Director of Khorfakkan Municipality, announced the opening of the first lounge for senior citizens along the shores of Al Luluyah Beach, as part of the municipality's strategy to enhance services and improve the quality of life for various community segments.
The lounge, the first of its kind in the city, was inaugurated at Al Luluyah Beach in the presence of Engineer Abdul Rahman Al Naqbi and numerous officials and representatives from government departments and institutions.
Al Naqbi stated that the lounge's opening aligns with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to provide all forms of support and care for the elderly.
He added that the lounge features an outdoor seating area by the beach, complete with facilities such as restrooms, parking spaces, and designated swimming areas equipped with all necessary swimming and rescue equipment. The lounge serves as a recreational space and meeting point for seniors.
Al Naqbi emphasised that Khorfakkan Municipality is committed to ongoing projects aimed at enhancing service quality for clients and improving public facilities across the city, including the provision of similar lounges in collaboration with the Social Services Department and the Khorfakkan Municipal Council.
