Sharjah24: The House of Poetry in Sharjah hosted on Tuesday a poetry evening as part of its forum activities, which regularly features Emirati and Arab poets. This rich programme offers opportunities to explore the evolution of Arabic poetry and showcases various creative experiences.
The evening featured poets Hemam Sadiq, Muhannad Al-Sharif, and Hossam Al-Sheikh, with media personality Youssef Ali serving as the moderator. Attendees included poet Mohammed Abdullah Al-Breiki, the director of the House of Poetry, along with a large audience of poetry enthusiasts, critics, academics, and poets, who frequent the House of Poetry for its eloquent expressions and beauty of language.
Youssef Ali presented at the evening by expressing heartfelt gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his generous support of Arab culture. He welcomed the guests who traveled to Sharjah in search of aesthetic values, describing it as "the Emirate of knowledge, literature, poetry, and culture, the compass of letters and verses, and the haven for poets and writers, the sun of cities and the bride of rhymes, home to poetry and its people.
At the conclusion of the evening, poet Mohammed Al-Breiki honoured the participating poets and the event's moderator. This gesture of recognition celebrated their contributions to the art of poetry, highlighting the importance of artistic collaboration and community within the literary world. The evening ended on a high note, with attendees expressing their appreciation for the heartfelt performances and the rich tapestry of words shared throughout the event.
