Sharjah24: Sharjah Department of Islamic Affairs announced 380 designated locations for Iftar meals for fasting individuals across various regions and cities in the Emirate of Sharjah during the blessed month of Ramadan. The department oversees the issuance of necessary licenses, organisation, and coordination in collaboration with charitable organisations and benefactors, as part of Ramadan initiatives aimed at supporting the spirit of community solidarity.
The Iftar locations are strategically distributed in easily accessible areas, including around mosques and main squares in vital regions of the emirate. There are 250 Iftar sites in the city of Sharjah, 71 in the central region, and 59 in the eastern region, ensuring that meals reach the largest number of needy individuals.
The department confirmed that the selection of sites is based on population density and the actual needs of beneficiaries. The department, along with relevant authorities in the emirate, is committed to providing a safe and comfortable environment that ensures meals are delivered according to the highest food safety standards. They noted that the preparation of Iftar sites includes the use of specialized tools and containers to ensure the transportation of meals without compromising their quality and safety during the distribution process.
This initiative is part of a series of Ramadan programs organized by the Department of Islamic Affairs in coordination with charitable institutions and benefactors, aimed at enhancing values of giving and social solidarity during the holy month. It contributes to fostering an atmosphere of joy and love in the community during Ramadan, reflecting the emirate's leading role in promoting social solidarity and cooperation among various segments of society.
