Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr Abdullah Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council, emphasised the critical role of the family in helping athletes reach the highest levels of success and international participation. He made this statement during his involvement in the 6th Ramadan Council, which featured the 8th Players’ Parents Forum, organised by the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club in collaboration with the Consultative Council.

Praising the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club's efforts

Dr Al Nuaimi commended the Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club for organising the forum, highlighting its importance in fostering communication between parents and sports clubs. The event also provided a platform to address the challenges players face in their sports careers, while raising awareness of the crucial role of family guidance in achieving sports excellence.

Role of family in building sports excellence

In exclusive remarks to "Sharjah 24," Dr Al Nuaimi explained that sports success starts at home. He emphasised that the family plays an essential role in shaping a player's character, fostering their sports commitment, and motivating them to achieve success. Parental psychological and moral support is vital for enhancing athletes' performance, enabling them to progress to regional and international competitions.

Sharjah's commitment to supporting sports

Dr Al Nuaimi concluded his speech by reaffirming Sharjah's ongoing support for sports and athletes. He highlighted the emirate’s initiatives and programmes that aim to position Sharjah as an integrated sports environment.
