Sharjah24: Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director of Media Production Services at Sharjah Media City (Shams), announced the launch of the Shams Ramadan Esports Championship, featuring a wide participation of professional and amateur players from both inside and outside the UAE.

Week-Long Competition

Al Suwaidi confirmed to “Sharjah24” that the championship began today at the Business Center, bringing together local and international gamers. The tournament, lasting seven days, will see teams competing in FIFA 25. It offers players a platform to showcase their skills and compete for valuable cash prizes.

Supporting Youth Innovation

Speaking to “Sharjah24”, Al Suwaidi emphasised that this initiative aligns with Shams’ ongoing commitment to supporting youth and empowering them in the fields of innovation and technology. Esports is one of the fastest-growing industries worldwide, and this championship aims to foster a spirit of healthy competition while encouraging young people to engage in meaningful and enjoyable activities.

Expanding Global Reach

Al Suwaidi added that the tournament also strengthens the UAE’s position as a leading hub for esports in the region. For the second consecutive year, the championship is being broadcast on YouTube and Twitch, allowing players to showcase their talents not only to the local market but also to a regional and global audience.
