Sharjah 24: The Supreme Medical Retirement Committee of Sharjah Social Security Fund (SSSF) held its meeting at the Fund's headquarters, to continue studying the requests submitted on health fitness of the insured, and requests for retirement and medical disability, within the framework of its jurisdiction within the Sharjah government system.
During its meeting, held on Thursday, the committee discussed the submitted reports, and reviewed the annual performance report, reflecting its continuous efforts in following up on the public affairs of the insured according to the approved controls and procedures.
The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Dr. Abdulaziz Saeed bin Butti Al Muhairi, Chairman of the Committee, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Saqr Al Mualla, Vice Chairman of the Committee, and members Dr. Fatima Al Khamiri, Nada Hassan Al Raisi, Saeed Sultan bin Khadem, Yousef Obaid Al Tunaiji, and Mahra Sultan Shattaf, the Committee's Rapporteur.
Ensuring staff welfare
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman of the Committee stressed the importance of its roles, pointing out that its work continues at a regular pace to ensure employee stability and support for the functional staff.
Al Muhairi stressed that the Committee works in accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, who pays great attention to achieving the well-being of citizens, whether during their professional career or after retirement, especially for those who suffer from health conditions that require special care.
The Chairman of the Committee thanked His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his continuous support for the functional staff and ensuring the continuity of their giving, and expressed his appreciation to SSSF for its role in organising the affairs of retirees and caring for special medical cases.
Al Muhairi stressed that the Committee is working to carefully study all requests and take appropriate decisions in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations.
The meeting included a careful review of retirement and medical disability requests, and following up on the conditions of the insured, as the Committee discussed the impact of occupational diseases, and the mechanisms for assessing the percentage of disability according to the organising legislation, in a way that guarantees the rights of retired employees.
Using accurate standards
The importance of using accurate medical standards to ensure fair and balanced decisions that serve the interests of all parties was emphasised.
At the end of the meeting, the committee renewed its commitment to follow up on the various health files of the insured, and to work on developing evaluation and study mechanisms, in line with the vision of the Sharjah government in providing the necessary support to the functional staff and retirees, in order to achieve the principles of social justice and sustainable health insurance.
