385 poles light up Al Dhaid Racecourse and Jabal Omar Park

Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) has successfully completed a major lighting project at the Al Dhaid Camel Racecourse. This project involved installing 316 lighting poles, each standing 12 meters tall, and setting up transformers to power the lights. In total, over 23 kilometers of cables were laid down, all at a cost of more than AED8.5 million.

Additionally, SEWA has finished the second phase of the Jabal Omar - Al Dhaid Public Lighting Project. This part of the project included installing 69 poles, each 8 meters high, along with 73 LED lights designed to be energy-efficient. Over 3 kilometers of copper cables were also installed, costing a total of 551,284 dirhams.

Engineer Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, who is the Director of the Central Region Department at SEWA, stated that the lighting at the camel racecourse was done to very high standards. The project used both aluminum and copper cables for durability and included the installation of 718 LED lights and lighting supply boxes.

He emphasized that SEWA is committed to providing excellent services that support development and tourism, ensuring that lighting projects across different areas improve safety and create a visually appealing environment.
