The forum honored several key figures and organizations, including Abdullah Al Shehhi from Dubai Cares and Dr. Mohammed Salem Al Junaibi from the Emirates Red Crescent.
The first session addressed the UAE’s role in supporting global volunteer initiatives, with contributions from Dubai Cares, the Emirates Red Crescent, and the International Charity Organisation. The second session explored international volunteering practices, featuring representatives from the Emirates Foundation, Sharjah Charity Association, and international student volunteer Saleh Al Shamsi.
In his opening speech, Dr. Jassim Al Hammadi, Secretary General of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, emphasized that volunteerism transcends geographical boundaries, as it is the efforts made to promote tolerance and understanding that define humanity.
Fatima Musa Al Balushi, Executive Director of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, stressed that the event reflects the UAE’s role as a global leader in volunteer work, aiming to raise awareness and develop strategies for supporting communities both locally and globally.
