The conference was attended by more than 50 researchers from 35 scientific and educational institutions from 17 nationalities, as the scientific sessions addressed the history of Quranic readings, their relationship with other sciences, and the role of digitisation and artificial intelligence in developing their teaching methods.

Studying Quranic readings

During the closing session, His Excellency Professor Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of AQU, expressed his pride in the success of the conference, which embodies the university's vision and global mission in serving the Holy Quran and its sciences.

Al Khalaf stressed the importance of the recommendations that emerged from the conference, which came as a result of the research presented and extensive scientific discussions, which contribute to enhancing scientific research and developing curricula for studying Quranic readings.

Enhanced cooperation

The conference recommended the need to continue holding such international scientific conferences to enhance cooperation between researchers and those interested in the science of readings, activate cognitive integration between the science of readings and other sciences, and employ artificial intelligence techniques in developing this field according to scientific controls and standards.

Using modern technologies

Participants also stressed the importance of using modern technology in teaching, memorising and interpreting the Holy Quran, and activating e-learning platforms in teaching readings, in line with the developments of the era and the requirements of modern education.

The conference stressed the importance of preparing a comprehensive database that includes readings sections and specialised websites, and employing smart device applications to serve Quranic readings, which facilitates access to specialised scientific sources.

Encouraging field studies

Participants called for encouraging more field studies that monitor the impact of Quranic readings on the reader and the one who authorises them in the fields of education, society and cultural communication, which enhances the presence of the science of readings in various areas of life.

International cooperation

On the sidelines of the conference, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Ibn Al Jazari Institute for the Holy Quran in the Philippines, represented by the Institute’s Undersecretary, Dr. Hamidi Suleiman Omar, and the College of the Holy Quran at Al Qasimia University, represented by the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Abdul Karim Othman, within the framework of enhancing academic and scientific cooperation in the field of Quranic studies.
