Mleiha Reads 2 Festival celebrates Knowledge and Culture

Sharjah24: In a vibrant atmosphere celebrating knowledge and culture, the "Mleiha Reads 2" Festival kicked off at the Mleiha Cultural and Sports Club. The event welcomed a large audience, including officials, parents, and over 1,500 students from 15 schools across Sharjah and the Central Region.

The festival reaffirms the club’s commitment to promoting cultural and educational values, aligning with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, a Supreme Council Member and the Ruler of Sharjah. His Highness emphasises that "Building a strong educational and cultural foundation is the greatest investment in shaping nations built by their people."

Festivities and Recognition

The opening ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting event followed by a tour of the book exhibition, which showcased works from renowned cultural and academic institutions. Visitors explored a diverse collection of books that highlighted themes of heritage, culture, literature, and knowledge.

Attendees also engaged in interactive workshops offering both educational and entertaining programs designed to spark children’s passion for reading.

The festival showcased an artistic event led by Ahmed Sultan, which was succeeded by a speech from Issa Rashid Mohammed Al Hammadi, a member of the club. In his address, he emphasized the club’s commitment to fostering reading as a crucial foundation for intellectual and creative development.

The event wrapped up with a notable honouring ceremony, during which Dr. Saeed Musabah Al Kaabi, a prominent educator, author, athlete, and media personality from Sharjah’s Central Region, received recognition for his significant contributions to the cultural and educational landscape.

In addition, all participating entities were honoured, marking the end of the festival with widespread acclaim from attendees.
