Iman Al Balushi: Theatre Days unites Emirati, Gulf, Arab artists

Sharjah 24: Iman Al Balushi, a member of the organising committee for Sharjah Theatre Days, highlighted that the 34th edition of the event, launched recently at the Palace of Culture, features theatrical performances, intellectual forums, and applied seminars. This festival serves as a key gathering for theatre artists.

A cultural event under the patronage of His Highness Ruler of Sharjah

The festival kicked off under the presence and patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. It is an annual celebration that unites theater artists from the UAE, the Gulf, and the Arab world, solidifying its importance in the cultural and artistic scene.

Participation and awards in Sharjah Theatre Days

Six shows are competing in this year’s festival, alongside two short plays from Kalba that won the Best Theatrical Show Award and the Scenography Award. Notable honors were given to distinguished artist Maryam Sultan, who was recognised as a "Local Personality," and Syrian actor Asaad Fadda, who received the Sharjah Award for Theatrical Creativity.

Intellectual forums and seminars

Alongside the performances, the festival includes intellectual forums and practical seminars to enrich the cultural experience for attendees. The activities of Sharjah Theatre Days will conclude on February 26.
