The fifth Public and Partners Forum was attended by Ahmed Ibrahim Al Meel, Head of Sharjah Social Services Department, Colonel Ali Alki Al Hamoudi, Director of the Eastern region Police Department, along with members of Sharjah's Consultative Council, municipal council heads, government department directors, and community representatives, including those with mobility and hearing impairments.
Dr Al Hamoudi highlighted that the forum strengthens cohesion and shared responsibility between the community and its security apparatus, embodying Sharjah Police's vision of "a safe society and pioneering police". He emphasised the forum's alignment with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, in building a cohesive family and stable society.
The forum, moderated by Dr Abdulsalam Al-Hammadi, addressed themes of family and community. Speakers, including Sharjah Consultative Council member Dr Ruqaya Rashid Al Zaabi and Salah Obaid Al-Ghoul, head of Dibba Al-Hisn District Council, discussed:
1. Key security challenges
2. Future directions for Sharjah Police amidst rapid technological and social developments
3. Sustainability of family stability and its impact on community security
Participants emphasised that family stability is fundamental to achieving community security and highlighted Sharjah's efforts in supporting families and translating directives into practical initiatives that enhance family cohesion and community stability.
The forum also discussed the vital role of suburb councils in addressing social issues and enhancing community cohesion, emphasising their importance in bridging the gap between police and local communities.
The event featured constructive interventions from attendees focused on strengthening partnerships and achieving community security and stability. These discussions provided valuable insights into community needs and expectations from law enforcement agencies.
The forum concluded with a recognition ceremony for partners from government institutions, individuals cooperating with the police, and media representatives. This gesture reflected Sharjah Police's commitment to reinforcing the principle of community partnership in enhancing security and safety, acknowledging the vital role played by various stakeholders in maintaining public order and community well-being.
