Sharjah24: The Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation (SSEF) has initiated its seasonal Ramadan campaign "Zakki," which seeks to offer assistance to orphaned families in Sharjah as well as the central and eastern areas of the emirate. This initiative encompasses various economic and social projects centred around humanitarian efforts. The campaign seeks to address the needs of beneficiary families and promote their empowerment, with the foundation prioritising the distribution of allocated funds to each family prior to the commencement of Ramadan. This assists families with limited resources in getting ready to fulfil their essential requirements during the sacred month.
The role of projects in empowering families
The "Zakki" Ramadan campaign features several important projects, with the "Zakat project" standing out as one of the most significant. Following Sharia rules, this project makes it easier for zakat funds to be sent directly to families who need them. This makes sure that help gets to those who need it most.
The "Ramadan Provision" project also addresses the needs of families during the month. The campaign features the "Iftar for Them" project, aimed at providing meals during the fasting hours of Ramadan. The "Ramadan Gift" project provides Ramadan gifts to new families joining the foundation or those facing particular social challenges. Additionally, the campaign features social programs that resonate with the essence of Ramadan.

Statement from the director
Mona Bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of Sharjah Social Empowerment Foundation, announced that the "Zakki" campaign is a key annual project that the foundation is dedicated to launching prior to the commencement of Ramadan.
This year, the campaign aims to support more than 2,800 orphans from 1,181 families. The aim of the campaign is to foster social solidarity and guarantee that zakat funds and donations are directed to the families in need. Through this initiative, the foundation aims to enhance their quality of life, assisting them in meeting their basic needs and preparing for the holy month.

Campaign for community collaboration
Al Suwaidi explained that the "Zakki" campaign is not merely focused on collecting donations; it represents a comprehensive initiative that embodies the spirit of cooperation and support within the community. Through its diverse projects, the foundation aims to improve the living standards of families and ensure that Ramadan becomes a time of goodness and joy for them.
These projects provide comprehensive support to meet the families' needs while preserving their dignity and reducing their burdens. The foundation emphasises their care, empowerment, and support across a range of available fields.

Call for participation
She highlighted that the success of the campaign depends on the united efforts of the community, along with support from both individuals and institutions. She urged everyone to take part in this humanitarian campaign, whether by making financial contributions or by engaging in the various projects. She emphasised that every contribution, regardless of its size, significantly impacts the lives of these families and strengthens the values of giving and compassion that define the Emirati community.

Working together with "Thabihati"
The collaboration with the "Thabihati" app continues as part of the "Ramadan Gift" project, which provides the opportunity for donors to contribute Ramadan gifts that include essential food items such as Ramadan provisions, iftar meals, meat, fish, poultry, vegetables, and fruits. The app organises and distributes food boxes to underprivileged families within the foundation facing low income, thereby fostering a spirit of generosity during Ramadan.

Channels for Donations
The foundation also encouraged those wishing to donate to make use of the available channels through its official website or by following its social media accounts. The significance of working together with partners, supporters, institutions, and community members was emphasised to guarantee the campaign's success and fulfil its humanitarian goals.
