Sharjah to host 10th International Scout Gathering on 8 Feb

Sharjah 24: Major General Abdullah Saeed Al Suwaidi, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Scout Commission, has announced that the 10th International Scout Gathering will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Focus on "Scouting and Sustainable Development"

Taking place from 8 to 17 February 2025, the event will focus on the theme “Scouting and Sustainable Development” and will unite 300 scouts from 80 countries, marking it as one of the most important international scouting gatherings.

Varied initiative advocating for sustainability

At a press conference held by the Supreme Organising Committee, Al Suwaidi expressed his heartfelt appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his steadfast support of scouts around the globe. He emphasised that the gathering will include various workshops and activities designed to promote awareness about sustainability, aligning with the UAE’s vision for sustainable development.

The programme will feature field visits to notable landmarks throughout the country, highlighting the depth of Emirati culture and heritage. Furthermore, a global exhibition will provide participants with the opportunity to exchange their scouting experiences and sustainability initiatives. Al Suwaidi expressed his hopes for a safe and successful event for all participants.
