Sharjah24: Sharjah Women’s Sports Club secured a remarkable total of 10 medals—4 silver and 6 bronze—at the Kata Union Cup (individual categories: under 13, Girls, and Under-21), which took place on Saturday, 25 January 2025, at the Sharjah Individual Games Club in Al Hazana.

The tournament showcased top-tier participation from clubs such as Shabab Al Ahli, Dubai Police, Mentor Sports Academy, Ewan Sports Academy, Al Hili Centre, World Gym Centre, Future Talents Academy, Ajyal Sports Academy, and Sharjah Women’s Sports Club, all amidst fierce competition.

Exceptional performances

The club's athletes excelled in the under-13 category. Lea Sameh earned a silver medal following intense matches against rivals from different clubs, while Fayrouz Mohammed showcased a determined effort to claim a bronze. Jawaher Ahmed demonstrated her abilities, contributing another bronze to the team’s total.

Remarkable accomplishments

In the Girls category, Shahd Mahmoud captivated spectators with an outstanding performance, securing a silver medal. Meanwhile, Lujain Mohammed, Hamda Ayoub, and Maryam Abdullah showcased remarkable abilities, securing three bronze medals following challenging matches against seasoned teams. Noor Ahmed earned a silver medal after delivering impressive rounds, while Noor Akram showcased exceptional consistency to claim another silver amidst tough competition.

Excellence in the Under-21 category

Jumana Mahmoud showcased an impressive performance in the Under-21 category, securing a bronze medal that underscored her commitment and growth throughout her training sessions.

Coach’s statement

Coach Nesma Wanas commended the team's performance, stating, "Our players demonstrated their remarkable talent and determination in this tournament, which brings us great pride." In the face of tough competition, the team delivered outstanding results that showcase their dedication to training and preparedness for challenges.

She expressed sincere gratitude to the club’s management and institution for their continuous support in creating an optimal environment for success, along with appreciation for the team’s technical and administrative staff for their substantial contributions to this achievement.
