Poets explore elevated dream at ACC

Sharjah 24: To celebrate poetry, Sharjah's Arab Cultural Club (ACC) hosted a reading under the theme "The Ascent of an Elevated Dream." Shams Al-Din Boukeloua moderated the event, which featured poets Yasser Abdel Qader Mohammed and Dana Abu Mahmoud, drawing a distinguished audience of literary figures and poetry fans.

Sharjah’s role

Shams Al-Din Boukeloua highlighted Sharjah’s role as a hub of poetry under the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, describing it as a nurturing space for poets to share their voices with a wide Arab audience. 

Yasser Abdel Qader’s upcoming collections

Yasser Abdel Qader, a Sudanese poet and physician, opened the evening with his works, demonstrating mastery of poetic techniques and a captivating style. His upcoming collections include "As if I Live" and "Ascent to the Heights of Prophethood." 

Emotive readings

Dana Abu Mahmoud, a poet, critic, and Arabic teacher, followed with emotive readings reflecting themes of exile, nostalgia, and longing. Her poetic style, marked by delicate expression and vivid imagery, has won numerous awards.

Visionary poem

The evening concluded with Shams Al-Din Boukallouh’s visionary poem, showcasing his skill in crafting symbolic and captivating works.
