Sharjah 24: Under the gracious patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the weaning age camel races for tribal participants will kick off on Saturday, January 18, at the Al Dhaid Camel Racecourse. This event is organized by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club and promises an exciting day of competition. The first day's lineup features 15 races for weaning-age (Fatamin) camels, which include 10 races for locals from Al Dhaid, two challenging races specifically for Al Dhaid contestants, and 4 races for guests hailing from the tribes of the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council countries, each spanning a distance of 1200 meters.

Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, emphasized that the weaning age race at the Al Dhaid racecourse is established under the guidance and direct support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. This initiative aims to preserve the ancient heritage of camel racing, a cherished tradition of our fathers and grandfathers. The weaning age race is a significant addition to the annual festivals and races organized by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club.
