Sharjah 24 – Reuters: Manchester United advanced to the fourth round of the FA Cup after defeating Arsenal 5-3 on penalties in the third-round match on Sunday.

1-1 draw leads to penalty shootout

The match ended 1-1 after regular and extra time, with Manchester United eventually winning the penalty shootout 5-3. Bruno Fernandes gave United the lead in the 52nd minute, while Gabriel Magalhaes equalized for Arsenal in the 63rd.

Key moments in the match

In the 61st minute, Manchester United's Diogo Dalot was sent off for a strong tackle on Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli. Arsenal had a chance to win the match in regulation, but Martin Odegaard's penalty in the 72nd minute was saved by United's goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Penalty shootout heroics

In the penalty shootout, Manchester United converted all five attempts through Bruno Fernandes, Amad Diallo, Lenny Yoro, Lisandro Martinez, and Joshua Zirkzee. Arsenal scored through Martin Odegaard, Declan Rice, and Thomas Partey, but Kai Havertz missed his penalty, sealing United's victory.
