Eng. Ibrahim Al Balghoni, Director of the Natural Gas Department at SEWA, revealed that 17% of the project has already been completed. The new pipeline will cater to all sectors in Hamriyah-West, significantly improving services, supporting regional development, and enhancing the quality of life. He highlighted that the network and pumping stations are built to the highest technical standards, prioritising safety and reliability.
SEWA’s long-term strategy is to extend the natural gas network to all areas of Sharjah. Continuous studies are underway to establish new pumping stations and expand pipelines, ensuring comprehensive coverage across Sharjah, Kalba, and Khorfakkan. Al Balghoni emphasised the growing number of natural gas subscribers in the emirate, noting SEWA’s commitment to encouraging residents to transition to natural gas as a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable alternative to liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders.
He further elaborated that natural gas offers several advantages, including round-the-clock availability, enhanced safety, and environmental benefits. SEWA ensures the network adheres to world-class quality and safety standards while maintaining competitive pricing compared to traditional gas cylinders.
To facilitate access to this vital service, SEWA has simplified the procedures for customers to connect to the network. Al Balghoni also noted that SEWA's strategic plan includes ongoing projects to deliver natural gas to residential, commercial, and industrial sectors alike. Dedicated teams from the Natural Gas Department are working tirelessly to ensure this essential service reaches every customer, maximising the benefits of natural gas for the entire community.
