The workshop included a detailed explanation of the family charter, the family company incorporation contract, and the procedures guide for establishing and registering family companies. Likely, it highlighted the importance of organizing family companies to ensure their continuity and development across as well as it addressed several important topics. These topics included conditions for establishing family businesses, a detailed explanation of the legal procedures and documents required to run such activity, the advantages and opportunities of family businesses, the competitive advantages of family businesses and their role in developing the local economy, government incentives and facilities, and the best global practices in managing family businesses.
In this regard, SEDD confirmed that the workshop focused on raising awareness of the importance of regulating family businesses and providing the necessary support to their owners to ensure their sustainability and growth in the local market. This falls within SEDD’s concerns to support family businesses, which are considered one of the main drivers of the local economy, and to provide the appropriate environment to ensure their continuity and competitiveness.
Additionally, the Economic Department in Sharjah stressed on the cruciality of supporting such activities and businesses due to its direct impact in the emirate’s economy. Therefore, SEDD seeks through such efforts to provide the necessary support to regulate the work of family businesses and ensure their transition between
generations in a sustainable and advanced manner, in line with Sharjah’s vision to enhance the business environment and provide solutions that support growth and expansion.
