Sharjah24: On the occasion of International Volunteer Day, Her Excellency Mariam Al Hammadi, Director-General of The Big Heart Foundation said: “International Volunteer Day is a powerful reminder of the need for individuals and communities to come together in the spirit of justice, compassion, and shared progress. Volunteering is far more than an act of kindness; it is a testament to the strength of solidarity—a cornerstone of resilience and a vital tool for addressing the pressing challenges of our time. It reinforces the idea that collective effort and ingenuity can lead to solutions that are both impactful and sustainable for generations.”
She added: “On this occasion, The Big Heart Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to volunteers around the world—those whose generosity lights the way and those who work alongside us in advancing humanitarian missions. To these dedicated changemakers, we express not only our admiration but also our commitment to continue rallying communities in support of dignity and hope for all in need.”

She concluded: ““The day serves as a moment of reflection on the plight of the most vulnerable—refugees, displaced persons, children, and women—who endure the greatest hardships in crises. Supporting them is not only an act of compassion but a necessity for strengthening humanity as a whole. Volunteering transcends individual generosity; it is a collective responsibility to ensure that no one is left behind. It is the foundation for building a fairer, more united world and a meaningful expression of our shared commitment to a future rooted in dignity, equity, and hope.”
