Sharjah24: The Sharjah Classic Car Club concluded the second edition of the "Rally Masar 71" on December 2nd, celebrating the 53rd anniversary of the UAE’s National Day. The event saw the participation of 110 classic cars of various types, models, and ages, with owners coming from the Gulf countries and different parts of the UAE. They embarked on an exceptional journey that spanned six stations and 410 kilometers, during which they explored the most prominent natural and tourist landmarks of Sharjah, from the Sharjah Classic Car Museum to the final stop in Dibba Al-Hisn. The rally blended a passion for classic cars with a spirit of national celebration.
The event was organised in partnership with the "Sharjah Driving Institute" as an official sponsor and "Emirates Auctions" as a logistical partner. The participants began their journey from the Sharjah Classic Car Museum, embarking on a unique route through the "Al Badayer Desert Resort," then heading to "Sharjah Safari," the largest safari outside Africa. The rally continued towards "Al Rafraf Resort" in Khor Fakkan before reaching the Khorfakkan Theatre, where both cities were illuminated with festive celebrations and official events attended by citizens and residents. The rally concluded in Dibba Al-Hisn, from where the cars returned to the Sharjah Classic Car Club, in a journey that combined the joy of driving with a tour through diverse landscapes, reflecting Sharjah's rich environmental and cultural diversity.
Living Monuments to the UAE's History:
Commenting on the event, Ahmed Saif bin Hanzal, Director of the Sharjah Classic Car Museum, said: "This year's Masar 71 Rally was more than just an enjoyable trip or a display of classic cars. It was a symbolic expression of the deep connection between the past and present. We made sure that the participating classic cars were living witnesses to a period of our history that represents the effort and determination that shaped the foundations of the UAE's renaissance. Therefore, in our National Day celebrations, we aim to present an event that goes beyond the traditional forms of celebration, recalling the founding fathers who worked tirelessly to shape the UAE's modern identity."
