Sharjah24: His Excellency Sheikh Saud bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Director General of Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), praised the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and his support for the emirate’s ongoing development and prosperity.
He emphasised that His Highness’s endorsement of the Sharjah Digital Department Regulation Law reflects a comprehensive approach to establishing legislative frameworks that promote sustainable urban development, with the well-being of Sharjah’s people at the core of all progress.
Sheikh Saud expressed heartfelt gratitude to His Highness for entrusting the Department with the approval of this law, reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling the leadership’s aspirations by striving to position the emirate at the forefront of innovative digital services and excellence in digital transformation within the government sector, towards enhancing the quality of life for Sharjah’s residents.
The Director General of Sharjah Digital Department also affirmed that the new law represents a pivotal milestone in advancing the emirate’s digital transformation efforts, as it emphasises transparency and governance as core principles to enhance Sharjah’s status as a smart digital city and solidify its local and international leadership and competitiveness.
He said: “This law represents a key milestone in our commitment to delivering human-centred digital services that align with Sharjah’s aspirations and cater to the diverse needs of its community. We remain committed to working closely with all government entities in the emirate to ensure the successful realisation of the law’s objectives.”
Sheikh Saud further explained that SDD will adopt a unique approach to enhancing the digital experience in Sharjah: “The emirate’s rich cultural heritage continues to shape its forward-looking vision. Our strategy is founded on continuous innovation, combining modern technologies with inspiration from our traditions to build a smart digital society that prioritises human well-being and happiness.”

Sheikh Saud continued. “We will continue to develop shared digital systems, platforms, and channels that enable seamless information exchange between government entities to facilitate the exchange of information and data among government entities, ensure robust data protection, and support the government’s vision for comprehensive development.”
His Excellency concluded by highlighting that Sharjah Digital Department is already in the process of implementing plans that will translate the newly approved law into tangible projects and initiatives, ultimately contributing to the realisation of the emirate’s ambitious goals and the vision of its wise leadership.
