Sharjah24: Under the patronage of Mohamed Ould Sweidat, the Minister of Public Service and Labor in the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, the Central Finance Department in Sharjah recently hosted an introductory seminar and training workshop in partnership with the Arab Administrative Development Organization, affiliated with the Arab League. This significant event took place in the capital city of Nouakchott, showcasing the Emirate of Sharjah's commitment to boosting financial literacy and developing professional skills throughout the Arab world.
Notable attendees included Dr. Azzam Ermeli, who serves as an Advisor to the Organization and is a Member of the Board of Trustees for the Award. Also present were Nasser Kashwani, Head of the Award's Logistics Support Team, and Hassan Pasha, an Advisor to the Award. The gathering included representatives from various entities involved in public money management and quality assurance, alongside specialists and experts in public finance.

The introductory seminar aimed to introduce participants to the Sharjah Award for Public Finance. Dr. Azzam Hussein Ermeli provided a thorough overview of the award’s vision, objectives, target audience, and evaluation criteria during the session. Professor Nasser Kashwani elaborated on the mechanisms and requirements for participation, encouraging open dialogue and addressing participants' questions.

The training workshop featured engaging sessions, beginning with a segment on "Fiscal Policy." Participants explored fundamental concepts, objectives, and the effects of fiscal policy on the economy. The workshop also emphasized techniques for analyzing fiscal policies and ensuring their long-term sustainability. Dr. Saadbouh Ould Al-Rakad led this discussion, sharing practical examples and case studies that enriched the conversation.

Advanced topics were also covered, particularly in the segment focusing on "Monetary Policy." This session examined its aims, tools, and overall economic impact, discussing the various channels through which monetary policy operates and the importance of financial inclusion. Additionally, another session centered on "Coordination between Fiscal and Monetary Policy," where participants explored theories emphasizing the significance of this coordination, shared challenges, and presented case studies that highlighted successful strategies for effective collaboration.

Overall, the activities fostered lively engagement among participants, who appreciated the insights gained from both the discussion sessions and practical elements of the workshop. In the end, the workshop produced actionable recommendations that could greatly improve public finance management at both national and regional levels.
