Sharjah24: Sharjah Cultural Awards Forum, in its 14th edition, held in the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott at the Palais des Congrès (Convention Center), honoured "4" Mauritanian writers.
The honoured writers were Mohamed Wedadi, Dr. Ahmed Emberik, Mubaraka bint Al Bara', and Mohammedu Ahdhana.

The ceremony was attended by Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture in Sharjah; Hamad bin Ghanim Al Muhairi, UAE Ambassador to Mauritania, Cheikh Ould Mae, a representative of the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports and Relations with Mauritanian Parliament; Mohammed Ibrahim Al Qaseer, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs at the DoC; and several Mauritanian intellectuals, academics, and writers

Al Owais stressed that the cultural forums solidify the bonds of fraternal relations that unite the United Arab Emirates and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, under the umbrella of a wise leadership that believes in the importance of Arab integration in all fields.

He was pleased that many cultural events between the Department of Culture in Sharjah and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and relations with Parliament in Mauritania resulted in diverse cultural activities, led to the holding of a ceremony honouring a group of Mauritanian intellectuals as an appreciation of their efforts in serving the Arab culture.

Mohamed Ould Soueidatt, Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Relations with the Mauritanian Parliament, hailed Sharjah's efforts in serving Arab culture and its pioneering role in supporting Arab writers under the patronage and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Soueidatt stressed the depth of the Mauritanian-Emirati historical relations, including cultural cooperation with Sharjah, which is proceeding rapidly due to the country's leading cultural activity provided by the Department of Culture.

The honoured guests expressed their gratitude for the initiative of appreciation, pointing out that His Highness's efforts in serving science and scholars have a clear impact on Arab culture, considering that the ceremony is a noble appreciation for the creative contributions of Arab intellectuals.

At the end of the ceremony, Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Owais handed certificates of appreciation to the four honorees, signed by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, for their remarkable efforts.
