The panel discussion was centred on the role of digitalization in the tourism sector, highlighting both strategies and achievements specific to the Middle East. Al Mayman stressed that the Middle East is spearheading the global recovery from the pandemic's impacts, emerging as the fastest-growing region in terms of tourism. She reported a notable uptick in tourism figures, with a growth of 1.36% in the first quarter and 1.26% in the first seven months of 2024 when compared to the same periods in 2019.
Furthermore, she proposed that the forum include a ministerial dialogue next year, bringing together tourism ministers from across the Middle East to facilitate collaboration and knowledge sharing.
