Sharjah24: In its 13th issue, the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy (SALA) Magazine emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Standard Arabic, urging enthusiasts to address its practical use within educational and social institutions to enhance its presence in writing and speaking.
The magazine highlighted views from prominent academics and analysts who lauded Arabic for its expressive depth and distinctive linguistic framework, adept at communicating profound meanings and artistic elegance across diverse contexts.
In the editorial "Will Our Societies Ever Enjoy Pure Standard Arabic?", Sharjah's Arabic Language Academy Secretary-General, Dr. Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, outlined three primary categories of contemporary Arabic studies: those that celebrate Arabic as the language of the Quran, those that examine Arabic heritage through critical analysis, and those that utilise modern linguistic theories in the context of Arabic. He warned about the dangers of depending too much on Western linguistic studies, urging for a more balanced perspective.
Al Mosteghanemi emphasised the importance of examining the practical application of Arabic within educational and social frameworks, pointing out the impact of globalisation on young people's views and the possible loss of Arabic as a guardian for the of Islamic and Arab values.
He stressed the importance of maintaining and improving Standard Arabic as crucial for anyone dedicated to the strength and unity of their nation.
