Sharjah Municipality obtained the certification after meeting all the necessary criteria to pass the evaluation for approving the system, in light of the major role it plays in dealing with emergency situations with high professionalism, following the approach of the Emirate of Sharjah.
His Excellency Khalid bin Falah Al Suwaidi, Director of Customer Service at Sharjah Municipality, received the honorary shield in the presence of the specialised team that contributed to fulfilling all the necessary criteria for the municipality’s success in obtaining the certificate, during the ceremony organised by the Prevention and Safety Authority to honour the entities that succeeded in fulfilling the criteria for business continuity, the continuity of vital operations, and the development of an effective work system to deal with crises and emergencies.
His Excellency Obaid Saeed Al Tunaiji, Director General of Sharjah Municipality, stressed that the smiling emirate presents a distinguished model in dealing with emergencies and crises, thanks to the capabilities and unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, to ensure the provision of the best services and their continuity, especially in emergency situations, and to care for people and provide their requirements.
Al Tunaiji appreciated NCEMA and Sharjah Prevention and Safety Authority efforts to enhance cooperation and coordination with the relevant local authorities, provide the necessary support and raise readiness to confront crises of any kind and in all circumstances, and focus on ensuring the continuity of services and their provision to the public and facing all challenges.
Al Tunaiji also praised the great role of the local team for emergency and crisis management in the Emirate of Sharjah for its efforts and joint coordination to ensure the continuity of work and services in emergency situations, which contributes to providing a distinguished environment that provides the highest standards of health, safety and public safety, and achieves quality of life.
Sheikha Dr Shaza Al Mualla, Director of Institutional Support, confirmed that the municipality works according to proactive plans and provides the necessary capabilities to deal professionally with emergency situations and confront all circumstances and challenges. The municipality has gone through many successful experiences, during which it has provided professionalism in work and great efforts in confronting crises in a way that preserves the safety of society and property and provides various services without interruption. The certificate comes as a culmination of the journey of achievements in this field.
Al Mualla explained that the municipality has met all the criteria and requirements necessary to obtain the certificate, and provided a comprehensive presentation and explanation about the mechanism for continuing to provide its services, especially in light of the flexibility it provides in work, and the application of digital transformation in most of its services, which can be accomplished remotely, in line with its goals of facilitating matters for customers and completing services in record time.
