Sharjah24: The third edition of the Sharjah Ruler's Camel Racing Festival 2024 concluded on Friday, at the Al Dhaid Camel Racing Track. Organised by the Sharjah Camel Racing Club, the five-day festival attracted enthusiasts from across the UAE and GCC countries, celebrating tradition and heritage.
The festival's final day witnessed competitions in the "Houl" and "Zamoul" categories over a 6-km track, attended by Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamid Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Department of Statistics and Community Development in Sharjah, along with other dignitaries and a large audience of camel racing fans.

Winners of the prestigious "symbol" races were awarded throughout the event, with Sheikh Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Isa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of the Sharjah Sports Council, Khalfan bin Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Al Khalidiyah Suburb Council, and Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, in attendance alongside several government officials.

Evening competitions saw significant participation from camel owners across the UAE and the Gulf. Abdullah Mohammed Muadhd bin Huwaiden Al Ketbi extended deep gratitude to UAE President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan for his support of camel racing nationwide. He also expressed appreciation for His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, for his generous sponsorship of the festival, which has become a hub for Gulf camel racing enthusiasts.

Bin Huwaiden also commended the efforts of Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, in expanding the horizons of camel racing with his guidance and support.

Bin Huwaiden extended his appreciation to the Sharjah Camel Racing Club Board and all the organisations that played a role in the success of this year’s festival. The event showcased significant local and international participation, bringing together a diverse group of camel owners, trainers, and racing enthusiasts.
