Sharjah24: The Sharjah handball team dedicated the UAE Cup title to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah after clinching the championship on Tuesday in the final match against Al-Nasr.
Sharjah handball team officially won the UAE Cup for the seventh time in its history, defeating Al-Nasr 25-23 in the final match held at Sharjah Club. The team achieved this title with a perfect record of six victories in the tournament, which featured seven teams.
Sharjah had secured the title in the previous round after beating Al-Wasl 33-22, then awaited the official crowning at the conclusion of the competition.
The champion team was awarded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Humaid Al Qasimi, Member of the Executive Council of Sharjah and Head of the Statistics and Community Development Department, along with Nabil Ashour, President of the Handball Federation, and in the presence of His Excellency Khalid Issa Al-Midfa, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Club, Abdul Latif Nasser Al-Fardan, Member of the Sharjah Sports Council and Head of the Individual Sports Committee, Mohammed Obaid Al-Hossan, Member of the Board of Directors of Sharjah Club and Head of the Team Sports Department, as well as other board members.
The Board of Directors of Sharjah Sports Club dedicated their achievements in handball, particularly the UAE Cup for the 2024-2025 sports season, to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, along with his Crown Prince, and Deputy Rulers, in appreciation of their significant role and continuous support for the club and its players.
His Excellency Khalid Issa Al-Midfa praised the efforts of the club's operational system and the teams' staff, including players and technical, administrative, and medical teams, with the support of the Sharjah Sports Council, the fans, and all administrations that have contributed to the club's success.
His Excellency Mohammed Obaid Al-Hossan also commended the substantial support from the club's board and the Sharjah Sports Council, as well as the performance of the team managing the collective sports department, emphasizing everyone's commitment to ensuring all requirements for success, enabling the prestigious club to continue its journey of achievements and record-setting.
