Sharjah24: As part of the "Document is a Trust" campaign, Sharjah Archives (SA) organized a comprehensive training program in the field of document preservation, held at the headquarters in Sharjah with the participation of 95 students from various schools in the emirate. The program aims to empower students in research, preparation, and production of specialized research materials by utilizing various available sources of documents, books, references, recorded and visual materials. The program aims to equip students with research skills, prepare a new generation of researchers, introduce them to the importance of documenting interviews, highlight the role of libraries in the research process, and collect and preserve historical information sources.
The program included three workshops, all focusing on research and preparing documentary materials. The first workshop, titled "Be a Pioneer in Research," highlighted the methods used in preparing studies, terms, and key elements for preparing historical research. The second workshop, titled "How to be Documented?" shed light on the steps to conduct and preserve interviews, including a practical application in the institution's studio. The final workshop was titled "Library Research Fundamentals," where an overview of the Document House library services was presented, along with automated research skills, in addition to practical training on searching for books relevant to historical preservation.
In this context, Sharjah Archives (SA) launched the "Document is a Trust" campaign aimed at highlighting the importance of documents in various forms to enhance awareness of Document House's role in preserving documents and documenting historical facts and events.
