Sharjah 24: Abdulqader Mohammed Raees, Supervisor of Chess Promotion in UAE Schools at the UAE Chess Federation, announced the opening of the Rabaa Al Adawiya School Chess Club, on Tuesday, at Rabaa Al Adawiya Elementary School, in Sharjah, with the aim of enhancing students' skills in chess and qualifying them to participate in local and international tournaments.

Abdulqader Mohammed Raees stated that the UAE Chess Federation and Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, in cooperation with the Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women, have opened the Rabaa Al Adawiya School Chess Club, located at Rabaa Al Adawiya Elementary School in Sharjah. 

The club targets all age groups to qualify them to participate in local and international tournaments and develop their skills in chess.

Speaking exclusively to "Sharjah 24," Abdulqader Mohammed explained that the club offers specialised training programmes aimed at honing players’ talents and developing their abilities in the game of chess, in preparation for their participation in tournaments at the UAE level and abroad, which enhances their readiness to compete at various levels.

The supervisor of chess promotion added that the initiative comes within the framework of efforts aimed at spreading chess in UAE schools, and enhancing its position as an intellectual sport that helps develop students’ thinking and analysis skills.
