Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club launched the “School Olympiad for Sports Talents” initiative, aiming to expand the base for discovering and attracting talents from the region’s schools.
The launch was, on Monday, from Al Hamriyah Elementary and Secondary School, Boys.
The initiative comes under the directives of Salem Al Khayal, Member of the Board of Directors of Al Hamriyah Club and Chairman of the Individual Games and Talent Care Committee, who confirmed that the committee is looking forward to developing and raising the level of individual sports in schools and adding new members to the club.
The "School Olympics for Sports Talents" initiative targeted, as a first phase, archery and cycling, under the supervision of the two teams' coaches and the club's individual games advisor, Khadir Khafyani.
During the examinations, precise scientific criteria were relied upon to evaluate the beneficiaries' performance, physically and technically, with a view to adding the best of them to the club during the coming period.
