SCC Committee reviews draft law regulating SDD

Sharjah 24: The Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee of Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), discussed the draft law regulating Sharjah Digital Department (SDD), as part of efforts aimed at enhancing digital transformation in the Emirate.
The committee expressed its opinion on the draft law for the year 2024, which was referred to them by SCC Public Utilities Committee.

This came during the meeting held by the committee this morning at SCC headquarters in Sharjah, headed by Mohammed Ali Al Hammadi, Chairman of the Legislative and Legal Affairs, Appeals, Suggestions and Complaints Committee. 

The meeting was attended by Hamad Abdulwahab Al Qawadi, the committee's rapporteur, and members Mohammed Saleh Al Ali, Hamad Abdullah Al Riyami, Rashid Saleh Al Hammadi, Khalifa Mohammed Bu Ghanem and Obaid Ishaq Al Mazmi. 

From the General Secretariat of the Council, Youssef Hassan Al Ali, Council's Legal Advisor and Director of the Parliamentary Affairs Department; Saif Al Ketbi, Secretary; and Hamid Al Mishwi from the Computer Department. 

During its meeting, the committee discussed the articles regulating SDD and what it covers in terms of digital infrastructure and support for smart government services, which contributes to improving the provision of government services to citizens and residents through the use of modern technology. 

The committee discussed the general framework of the law and the articles regulating digital operations and government data, enhancing information security in the Emirate of Sharjah, and the important step this law will take in strengthening Sharjah's position as a leading hub in digital transformation, while providing more efficient and easy services to residents.
