Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Agriculture and Livestock (SDAL) is showcasing an innovative project, "Virtual Tour of the Wheat Farm and Dairy Farm," at the Sharjah Government Pavilion during GITEX Global 2024. Abdullah Yousef Al Hammadi, Technical Executive at the department, emphasised that this initiative aims to demonstrate the integration of cutting-edge technologies in agriculture and livestock management to boost production and efficiency.
In an exclusive interview with Sharjah 24, Al Hammadi highlighted how the wheat farm utilises advanced tools such as satellite thermal imaging, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, complemented by a weather station that forecasts conditions for up to eight days. These technologies enhance crop quality and optimise resource management.

For the dairy farm, innovative solutions include a smart robot for feed collection and smart collars to monitor the vital signs of cows. Additionally, machine learning and AI are employed to analyse data on health, nutrition, and overall animal welfare, ultimately aiming to improve productivity and ensure the well-being of livestock.
