Sharjah24 : The Central Police has been awarded the title of "elderly-friendly institution" as it won the Elderly-Friendly Institution Award in its fifth edition, during the 13th Senior Services Forum for the year 2024, organized by the Sharjah Social Services Department last Thursday.
The Elderly-Friendly Institution Award is one of the awards aimed at enhancing a comprehensive and sustainable environment that allows the elderly to easily benefit from its resources. It is based on three strategic pillars: sustainability, equality and justice, and advocacy, all built on the idea that Sharjah is an age-friendly and supportive city.

Colonel Hameed Saeed Al Jalaf, Director of the Central Police Department, received the award shield, emphasizing that the award crowns the journey of the Sharjah Police towards supporting an important segment of society. He pointed out that the administration continues to provide an ideal environment for the elderly, believing in the importance of caring for and nurturing them, through the implementation of various initiatives and the provision of services that ensure their rights in line with the Emirate's vision of being an elderly-friendly city.
