The programme comes as part of Sharjah radio strategy, aiming to raise awareness of educational issues and shedding light on the most important challenges facing the educational process and teachers in the UAE in general and in the Emirate of Sharjah in particular.
The "Stand Up for the Teacher" programme focuses on highlighting the role of the teacher and restoring his high status in society, by discussing the daily challenges that teachers face in their work and reviewing the solutions proposed by an elite group of specialists and experts in the education sector.
The programme also addresses the role of the family in supporting the educational and pedagogical process, and highlights the importance of cooperation between the family and the school in raising generations connected to the history of their country and the traditions of its people and armed with science and technology.
The programme is produced and presented by Alia Al Shamsi, retired from the Ministry of Education, and Salah Al Hosani, from Sharjah Private Education Authority (SPEA), and is broadcast on Fridays at 2:00 PM. The programme allows listeners to get information related to the educational community, including teachers, educators, and parents.
Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Dr. Muhadditha Yahya Al Hashimi, Chairman of SPEA and Chairman of the Sharjah Education Academy (SEA), stressed the importance of cooperation between the bodies supervising education and the media sector in establishing a constructive dialogue that contributes to the development of the educational process.
Al Hashimi noted that the “Stand for the Teacher” programme is a valuable addition to the educational programmes broadcast on Sharjah Radio.
Amal Abdul Rahman Al Owais, Director of Sharjah Radio, said the programme believes in the importance of raising awareness of the role of teachers in building a better future for future generations, and it supports all efforts that enhance this role.
Al Owais added that the presence of programmes in the media, such as the “Stand Up for the Teacher” programme, will undoubtedly contribute to enriching the educational scene by shedding light on the challenges that the sector seeks to overcome in accordance with the lofty directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the great educator and primary sponsor of the educational process in the Emirate of Sharjah.
