Sharjah 24: A delegation from the Sharjah Social Empowerment Found (SSEF) represented the Emirate of Sharjah at the United Nations' Summit of the Future in New York.
The four-day event featured seminars, high-level discussions, and participation from international officials, youth representatives, civil society, academia, and local authorities.

The summit aimed to develop actionable plans for a safe, equitable, and sustainable future for youth and to address global challenges collaboratively.

Mona bin Hadda Al Suwaidi, Director General of the SSEF, emphasised the importance of their participation in highlighting humanitarian work for orphans during this global gathering. She noted, “This summit facilitates crucial discussions and fosters international cooperation, inspiring a collective vision for vital issues.” The Foundation participated in discussions focused on “Youth Lead for the Future,” recognising the significant role young orphans play within their families and communities. She underscored the need to address their aspirations by reviewing best global practices and developing strategies to empower youth in leadership roles.

The summit also addressed innovation in humanitarian projects, showcasing various initiatives by the Foundation aimed at supporting orphans within their families. “We strive to listen to their needs and provide the best care, guiding their energies positively,” Al Suwaidi stated. The Fund has implemented innovative programmes that address psychological and social aspects, continuously evolving to meet the goals of empowering orphaned children and supporting their guardians.

The conference yielded several key recommendations, emphasising the need to invest in youth, enhance education, and increase vocational training opportunities. Participants stressed the importance of collaboration in achieving sustainable development goals and collecting data to safeguard future generations against global challenges. The need for gender equality, digital cooperation, and effective partnerships in humanitarian efforts was also highlighted.

Al Suwaidi concluded by noting that global conferences play a vital role in advancing institutional work, facilitating communication, and sharing knowledge that drives innovation and sustainable development.
