Sharjah24: The Sharjah Department of Human Resources (SDHR) marked the graduation of 53 employees from its English Language Program, which was conducted in partnership with the American University of Sharjah.
Employees from 13 government departments and authorities across the emirate participated, including the Executive Office of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, the Human Resources Department, Al Dhaid Municipality, the Archives House, the Department of Social Services, the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Sharjah Institute for Heritage, the Sharjah Art Foundation, the Sharjah Ladies Club, the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, the Sharjah Museums Authority, and the Sharjah Private Education Authority.
The graduation ceremony was held at the American University of Sharjah, with notable attendance from several dignitaries.
The program highlighted essential aspects including effective communication skills, the art of writing official reports, professional correspondence, and the conduct of professional conversations and discussions. The focus was on enhancing speaking and listening skills to boost daily employee performance. Participants were categorised into four different learning levels according to their language proficiency. The program's content was specifically designed to address the requirements of each level, aiming to improve their skills.
His Excellency Majid Hamad Al Marri, Director of the Sharjah Human Resources Department, praised the dedication and hard work of the participants in enhancing their language skills and meeting all the program's requirements with success. He urged them to maintain their dedication to continuous education, emphasising its role in fostering professional growth and advancing their careers.
His Excellency Al Marri stated that the organisation of this program is essential to the Department's training initiatives and aligns with its commitment to developing human resources and enhancing their skills. He also highlighted the significance of mastering the English language as a vital skill that enhances effective communication with diverse target audiences in government sectors, which in turn positively boosts job performance and also contributes to the delivery of high-quality services that meet the highest standards.
Al Marri highlighted the continuous partnership with the American University of Sharjah, which is part of a strategic initiative focused on enhancing human resources in the emirate and improving employees' skills within a scientific and professional atmosphere that fosters practical skill development. He expressed gratitude to the university for the academic and training support offered to the participants via its specialised language skills programs.
