Sharjah 24: Under the patronage of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the 13th Senior Citizens Services Forum will take place on October 3 at the Al Jawaher Reception and Convention Centre, under the theme "Artificial Intelligence in Their Service."
Maha Al Ali, Director of Government Communication at the department, stated that the forum will explore recent changes in the concept of aging and ways to enhance community services for the senior citizens amid rapid technological advancements.

This initiative is part of the Sharjah government's commitment to the "Sharjah Age-Friendly City" initiative, which aims to create a sustainable environment that caters to the needs of the elderly. The forum will bring together experts from healthcare, technology, and economics to discuss best practices and challenges in delivering comprehensive services for seniors. Sharjah is recognised as a leader in providing integrated services for the elderly, and this forum will focus on the latest trends that support active and sustainable aging.

Al Ali emphasised that the event will highlight how technological advancements and medical innovations can improve the quality of life for the elderly, including the integration of artificial intelligence into their daily routines to enhance independence and self-care. Topics will also cover the importance of maintaining physical and mental health through exercise, nutrition, and cognitive activities, as well as current government programmes and policies.

The forum aims to exchange insights on the application of artificial intelligence in elderly care, discuss recent scientific findings, and adapt AI practices to meet the evolving social landscape. Attendees will include specialists in elder care, who will share pioneering global experiences in incorporating smart practices into the lives of seniors.
