Sharjah 24 – WAM: In the presence of Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Sharjah Research, Technology, and Innovation Park (SRTIP), the Park introduced “Seal the Deal” programme in collaboration with the American University of Sharjah, the “Invest in Sharjah” office, and the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Centre “Sheraa.” This initiative aims to connect prominent student startups with investors, facilitating vital investments and strategic partnerships to foster their growth and success.
“Seal the Deal” specifically targets startups in innovative and advanced technology sectors, including Artificial Intelligence, robotics, and sustainability. Participants had the opportunity to present their projects to a panel of investors who assessed their feasibility and market potential. This initiative aligns with the Park's vision to promote entrepreneurship and sustainable development.
The programme showcased a selection of innovative startups from the Sheraa’s Startup Dojo youth incubation programme, highlighting the next generation of entrepreneurial talent in Sharjah. It featured 28 startups from over 15 nationalities, with 50% female participation, following an intensive eight-week training journey that provided essential entrepreneurial skills and mentorship.
Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the SRTIP Park, stated, “Seal the Deal” is more than just a pitching event; it’s a platform for young innovators to meet investors, creating significant opportunities for AUS startups. Our goal is to enhance Sharjah’s status as a global innovation hub through collaboration and strategic partnerships.”
Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, added, “We are dedicated to providing opportunities that allow our students to turn their ideas into impactful projects and to foster innovation by connecting them with the necessary support.”
Sara Al Nuaimi, CEO of Sheraa, emphasised the potential of young entrepreneurs to shape the future, stating that their partnership with SRTI Park and Invest in Sharjah strengthens this mission.
Mohamed Juma Al Musharrkh, CEO of the Sharjah FDI Office (Invest in Sharjah), expressed enthusiasm for the launch of “Seal the Deal” as a testament to the emirate’s commitment to nurturing innovation and developing the next generation of entrepreneurs.
