Sharjah 24: Following the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to increase the core herd at Mleiha Dairy Farm from 5,000 to 8,000 cows, the Sharjah Agricultural and Livestock Production Corporation "EKTFA", under the Department of Agriculture & Livestock, signed a contract granting "Inntro Agrar Gmbh" the supply of the third batch of cows for Mleiha Dairy Farm, totalling 1,500 cows with natural, non-genetically modified A2A2 genes from Mleiha Farm.
The contract was signed by Dr. Engineer Khalifa Musabah Al Tunaiji, Executive Director of EKTFA, and Cüneyt Kocakulak, General Manager of Inntro Agrar Gmbh, in the presence of Salem Abdullah Al Kaabi, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, and several senior officials from both sides.
The agreement stipulates that "Inntro Agrar" will supply 1,500 pregnant Holstein cows from the Danish A2A2 breed, carrying females implanted with A2A2 genes. The cows will be delivered via planes equipped with all necessary health and nutritional requirements and insurance and in compliance with all the specifications and medical examinations approved for the shipment and import of cows in the UAE.
Al Tunaiji stated that the signing of the contract fulfills the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah, to expand the core herd at Mleiha Dairy Farm from 5,000 to 8,000 cows. This increase responds to the rising demand for Mleiha organic milk in the local market, which is a result of the robust safe food system established by His Highness. This system emphasises healthy food and the pursuit of superior cow breeds, ensuring the purity necessary for producing healthy products. Additionally, the Mleiha Dairy Farm project supports community-focused research and academic efforts, collaborating with top universities, particularly the University of Al Dhaid, to study the benefits of these clean, healthy products. The ongoing partnership with "Inntro Agrar Gmbh" has enabled us to meet all the requirements and specifications aligned with the Sharjah Food Strategy.
In his statement, Cüneyt Kocakulak expressed his enthusiasm for continuing collaboration with the Sharjah government and highlighted the strategic partnership with the Sharjah Agricultural and Animal Production Corporation "EKTFA." He emphasised their commitment to working with leading institutions in organic food production, adhering to the best international practices, and noted that these efforts aim to meet the needs and expectations of consumers.
