Sharjah24: Last night, Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police, and Tariq Saeed Allay, Director-General of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB), participated in a friendly football match between Sharjah Police and the media office, which involved 40 athletes from both sides.
The match is part of a series of sports and events organised by Sharjah Police's Sports and Social Events Section for various government and educational institutions across the country.
These initiatives seek to create knowledge about the benefits of participating in sports and physical activities, promote social responsibility, and foster a culture of collaboration among all members of the community in a welcoming environment.
Al Shamsi emphasised the importance of expanding industries in order to strengthen partnerships with key partners, especially in the sports industry, where sport is viewed as a lifestyle. He emphasised the benefits of sports for employees' physical and mental wellness outside of the workplace.
He also stated that sports have become a strategic priority in the UAE, acting as a foundation for national efforts to achieve sports growth.
The encounter between the two sides included a mix of competition, rivalry, and excellent sportsmanship, and it ended in a 4-4 draw.
