Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) organised an orientation workshop for new employees, which addressed human resources laws and employee rights and duties.
The workshop came within the framework of the department’s efforts to enhance new employees’ awareness of internal systems and regulations, and to ensure their commitment to the highest standards of job performance.
The workshop included several main topics, such as defining the employee’s rights in the workplace, and the responsibilities that arise in performing duties, in addition to the human resources laws that regulate the relationship between the employee and the department. The workshop also highlighted attendance and departure policies, the rewards and penalties system, and mechanisms for submitting complaints.
The department stressed that this workshop comes within the context of its keenness to provide an integrated work environment that contributes to developing employees’ skills and raising the level of performance, noting that guiding new employees contributes to enhancing productivity and harmony within the work environment.
For their part, the participants expressed their appreciation for this initiative, which helped them understand the legal and regulatory aspects governing their professional career, stressing their readiness to contribute effectively to achieving the department’s goals.
